Eligibility & Submissions

All 2021 current practitioner members( Professional, Allied and Associate) or currently enrolled Students in good standing of the ASID Missouri East Chapter may enter this contest with any projects completed since October 1st 2019.  

Work may not have been published or scheduled to be published prior to Oct 1, 2021. Work may have been submitted to a design competition but cannot be previously awarded.  Photos can be used in marketing and social media prior to award ceremony.

Each single project may be entered in multiple categories, where applicable. 

Photography and Floor Plan(s):

Each entry must include a minimum of (2) two and maximum of (10) twelve photographs plus up to two optional hand-drawn or computer generated floor plans. 

Professional photography is strongly recommended for submission.  NO IDENTIFICATION OF ANY KIND is allowed on any part of the entry, except the entry form.  Entries will be disqualified if submitted photographs include prohibited designer or client identification.  

All photographic images should be a minimum of 300 dpi, max 10  mg and in JPG or PDF format.  Photoshop may be used for color correction and light editing but NO new objects may be added to the photos. It is the responsibility of entrants to have no-cost reuse rights from the property owner and photographer. Photography and property owner release forms are available on ASID Chapter website and must be completed and maintained by the entrant.  If chosen as a finalist, the designer must submit forms to ASID Chapter.

ASID MO East retains the legal right to publish all submissions and the photography will be added to the chapter's permanent photo bank to be used at the chapter's discretion, for the sole purpose of promoting the chapter. No previously published submissions will be accepted.

Design Concept Statement:

In addition to photography and floor plan(s), a concept statement of 500 words or less must be submitted on the appropriate form. Please detail the goals of the client, any challenges and how you achieved the design solution. The statement should be written in full sentences and paragraph form.

Judging:

The competition will be judged anonymously by another ASID chapter. NO IDENTIFICATION OF ANY KIND is allowed on any part of the entry, except the entry form. Winners will be selected based on functionality, creativity, originality, and best solution for the client in most categories, a first, second and third place award will be determined. The judges, at their discretion, may elect not to designate an award in an individual category and their decision is final.

Entry Fees:

Payable via PayPal at time of registration. Absolutely no refunds will be granted after submission are completed.

Practitioner members:  $75 first entry/ $50 add’l entries

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. Who is eligible to enter?

Any ASID MO-East Chapter Member, Associate, Allied or Professional, in good standing OR Any ASID-MO East student member in good standing.

2. What projects can be submitted?

Each entry must fall within the given categories and be completed no earlier than October 1, 2019. Projects may be entered in multiple categories where applicable.

3. What is the cost for an entry in Design Awards?

  • Designers - $75.00 first entry includes Awards Ceremony Ticket/ Each additional entry $50.00
  • Design Students- FREE

You may submit entries in multiple categories, or submit multiple entries in an individual category

4. What Information can I have on the Entry?

Submitted entries are anonymous to the judges. Therefore; NO IDENTIFICATION OF ANY KIND is allowed on any photo or in any description (i.e. designer, company, client, project name/logo, etc.).

5. What are the Photo Size and File Requirements?

You may submit up to 10 photos and (1-2 floor plans if appropriate with each entry). Photos cannot be larger than 10 MB, 300 ppi, and must be one of the following types: JPG or PDF.

6. Do I need to submit a floor plan?

Floor plans (1-2) of the area being entered may be submitted if appropriate to convey the design solution. Floor plans may be hand-drafted or computer-generated.

Student Entries are REQUIRED to submit floorplans.

7. What is the Word Limit for Photo or Floor Plan Descriptions?

Descriptions on the photos or floor plans should not exceed 50 Words.

8. Do I need a release form from the property owner and photographer?

Yes, the entrant will maintain the release form and vouch for the approval of the property owner and the photographer. There is a release form available for download as part of the Project Submission Guide, which can be obtained by clicking the link at the top of this page.

9. How can my entry be disqualified?

  • By not returning all requested information OR by not meeting one of more deadlines.
  • By including prohibited designer or client identification on any submitted photographs or floorplans, or including any of the same prohibited information with any entry form

10. How do I submit my entry?

  1. Scroll to the bottom of this page to select your entries. Before you can register, you will be required to log into or create a CPJ AM account if you have not yet done so.
  2. After logging into your CPJ AM account and selecting your entries, click Buy Now to transmit payment through PayPal.
  3. After payment is completed, PayPal will provide a link to return you to the contest, and your entries will have been unlocked. If PayPal does not, return to this page to see your entries.
  4. Click on each entry to begin your work - upload your photos (max 10), floor plans (max 2), and fill out each required form. Changes made are saved automatically.
  5. All submissions must be completed no later than midnight (11:59 p.m. on July 21, 2021)

11. When is the 2021 ASID Pinnacle Awards Ceremony? 

The Awards Ceremony is Sept 16, 2021 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Barnett on Washington, 3207 Washingtion Blvd., St. Louis MO 63103

12. How can I purchase Award Ceremony Tickets?

  • Credit cards: go to moe.asid.org and find Pinnacle Awards Ceremony page. You will see a link to purchase tickets via Eventbrite after Aug 19,2021.
  • Checks, make payable to ASID MO East Chapter can be mailed to 7750 Maryland Ave PO #11404; Clayton, MO 63105

13. Can my clients, family and friends attend the awards ceremony?

Yes, please encourage all to attend! Why not reward your clients, family and friends by gifting them with a ticket! All attendees must present a ticket purchased in advance.

14. Are any of the fees refundable?

No, all entry fees, tickets, etc are non-refundable.
